Trip to Pepperdine

Here on the 25th of March I connected with son Jamin for a very interesting time at the Law School for an "argument" before a Moot Court of the 9th circuit. I found myself being used as the baliff for this court - definitely a "first" and probably a "last."

Mountains and Water

Southeast Alaska is dominated by the convergence of mountains and saltwater. Glaciers, forests, streams add to the allure of God's creation. The heavens declare the glory of God.

Christmas Band Program

On December 15 I directed a band of 110 elementary kids, many of them playing in their first concert. Parents, friends, ...everyone seemed to be happy. Good news for a music teacher.

Christmas 2005

We had a great family time this Christmas. We especially enjoyed getting together with some others from church to play English Handbells and also to have our own family brass ensemble which played on Christmas Eve, Christmas, and also on New Years Day which happened on a Sunday. Lots of good food, games, and just being together were great, as usual.

Our Nation's Capital

One of the highlights of this past year was a Thanksgiving trip to Washington D.C. The hotels were almost deserted, and the crowds were down. It was a pleasure to walk through the area of monuments, memorials, museaums, and historic buildings of this great city. Also I enjoyed a trip out to the new National Air Museum see the Enola Gay, the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb, an SR 71 spy plane, a space shuttle and many other great planes.

Fishing last summer

I am the guy in the dark hooded jacket. Some relatives were here for a few days and had a great time out in the fishing holes around this island. The fellow in the middle is brother-in-law Alex and his son Tim. They are in Alaska for a little r and r and also to speak at the local Calvary Bible Church.
