Jamin's Job

Jamin has had an interesting time this summer working in a District Attorney's office in Anoka, Minnesota. He'll be returning to Pepperdine Law School for his second year -- shortly, and also working as a research assistant for Dean Starr (yup, the guy who investigated the Clintons). He got word that he is ranked #5 in his class out of 235. Hard work pays off.

Sunday Picnic

The morning after the wedding those of us who remained in the Atlanta area got together at a great park and had a picnic. Good food, talking, singing, getting together with the Bennett side of the family as well as the Soderstrom side.

Rrehearal Dinner

Rehearsal Dinner at the Stoney River Steakhouse was great! Don and Carol Richarson with Faith Smith in the background, Fred DeVos and daughter Shari, Faith drinking root beer from a bottle, the wedding couple Christa and Chip, and John and Shari Rittaca from Oregon. and many more of us had a great time. Fred and Priscilla arrived a bit late but were happily welcomed....lots of talking and a great meal.

More Wedding Pictures

More Wedding Pictures of the event of June 17 in Lilburn, GA. Donna and I flew in from Alaska, and a lot of others came from places such as Oregon, Florida, Mass. , Pennsylvania, etc. We gathered for a weekend, had a great rehearsal dinner at a local steakhouse, the wedding itself, the reception afterward, the "get-together" at Beth and Dave's house that evening, a reunion-type picnic on the following morning, and lots of "good-byes" afterwards. Here we see six cousins, the wedding party on the church stage, and soloist cousin Sharilyn from Oregon.

Sisters and I

I was able to re-unite with my three remaining sisters at the wedding. Priscilla DeVos, Faith Smith, Beth Bennett, and myself. After the wedding about 50 of us got together at Beth's house and conversed, played games, and, in general had a good time together.

Wedding and Reunion

Back to Atlanta for the wedding of my neice, Christa Bennet and a "reunion of sorts" with members of the extended family. Lots of good fellowship, food, and festivities before we came back to Ketchikan on June 20.

Blue Ridge Glory

We flew to Atlanta, rented a car, and then drove up to Asheville for a few days. The highlight was driving part of the Blue Ridge Parkway with all its gentle curves, scenic overlooks, and blossoming bushes and flowers. Hundreds of miles of grandeur. We drove about 100 miles of this awesome road in the east.

Dad's Doing Great

Donna and I flew south to Minneapolis on June 5th to see her dad (almost 91). He enjoys being out in the garden, taking care of the farm, and doing crossword puzzles. Jamin, our Lawyer-t0-be son came by every evening from his job in Anoka to have dinner and visit. Great time!

Cool Dam

Trip to Portland

On April 29 th I went south on the ferry and cruised through B.C. in the Dodge truck and on down to Kennewick, Washington to pick up things which Donnie left there after student teaching. Then on to Portland where I picked up Laura and her college stuff and drove back to Prince Rupert where we caught the ferry north back to Ketchikan. Had a great trip. Saw a Wolverine in B.C. and especially enjoyed the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington.
